About Shaymaa Ashi, MD
Dr. Ashi is a board-certified dermatopathologist, anatomic and clinical pathologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group.
She has extensive expertise in diagnosing skin diseases and cancers. Dr. Ashi obtained her medical degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology, and then completed a residency and fellowship training in anatomic pathology and oncologic surgical pathology in Jordan. She pursued residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. She further specialized in dermatopathology by completing a fellowship at the University of Chicago, where she developed an interest in cutaneous lymphoproliferative diseases and complex melanocytic lesions.
Dr. Ashi worked at the dermatopathology division of pathology and dermatology departments at St Luke’s University Health Network at Bethlehem, Penn., and served as an adjunct faculty of the dermatology residency program at St Luke’s University Health Network. She also served as a clinical assistant professor at the Temple/St Luke’s School of Medicine in Bethlehem, Penn. She is also an advocate for laboratory medicine and medical education and has volunteered with the American Society of Clinical Pathology and the Vingroup-Penn Alliance at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
She currently volunteers with the social media committee of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the American Board of Pathology CertLink. She is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the United States and Canada Academy of Pathology and the International Society of Dermatopathology.
In her spare time, Dr. Ashi enjoys home decor, cooking, running and spending time with her family.
