Dr. Frank J. Pinto has dedicated more than three decades to full-time clinical practice in the field of Dermatology.

A native of Fairfield County, he grew up in Easton and graduated from Fairfield Prep. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, earning a BS in Biology, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine on a U.S. Navy scholarship, earning his MD degree, cum laude, Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Frank J. Pinto has dedicated more than three decades to full-time clinical practice in the field of Dermatology.

A native of Fairfield County, he grew up in Easton and graduated from Fairfield Prep. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, earning a BS in Biology, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. He attended Georgetown University School of Medicine on a U.S. Navy scholarship, earning his MD degree, cum laude, Alpha Omega Alpha.

Dr. Pinto then entered active-duty naval service, completing an internship in surgery at Naval Hospital San Diego. He then spent the next three years serving at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut as an Undersea Medical Officer. Following his tour in Groton he had a break in his naval service to complete his residency in Dermatology at Yale-New Haven Hospital, serving as chief resident in his final year.

After his residency, Dr. Pinto returned to the Navy, completing two tours as a dermatologist, at U.S. Naval Hospital Guam and Naval Hospital Beaufort, South Carolina. Following his naval service he entered private practice in dermatology at Princeton Medical Group in Princeton, New Jersey. After leaving Princeton he started his own practice, South Georgia Dermatology, in Tifton, Georgia where he worked for over 10 years.

Dr. Pinto joined the Connecticut Dermatology Group in 2009, becoming a partner in 2010. He has extensive experience and expertise in all areas of medical and surgical dermatology, but specializes in skin cancer detection and treatment, including Mohs micrographic surgery. He also has a particular interest in inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease, including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

Dr. Pinto returned to military service in December 2022 as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Rhode Island Air National Guard where he is training to become a flight surgeon. In his free time he trains and competes in ballroom dancing and enjoys playing golf and hockey.
